Life is just a piece of paper

I remember when I was in the airport flying to Hongkong, I preferred paying attention to those pieces of papers in my hands rather than my bags and other staffs. And because of those papers, I was held and been investigated by the immigration office for some clarification regarding my identity.
Try to open an account in a bank. Provide those pieces of papers first before entrusting your money to them. If you don’t keep that paper, they will not keep your money as well. Whew!
Well, If we try to figure it out, life is really all in a piece of paper. When I was born my name, gender, date of birth, address, etc. were placed in a piece of paper. When I grew up and start my elementary school, they can’t let me in without that piece of paper.
I graduated and look for a job, employers were all more interested looking at those required pieces of papers rather than looking at me.
Before I got married, there were bunch of papers they asked us to submit otherwise we could never be husband and wife. And after I got married I was busy going to some government agencies to change and update my record status on those pieces of papers.
I couldn’t even buy our house, apply for telephone line, have an electric connection without those pieces of papers.
Even our beliefs and faith that talks about present life and next life, we can find it in some pieces of papers.
Is it really true, life is only a piece of paper?
